Dearne Valley Group Practice is a training practice for GPs and Nurses.

This means that we have qualified doctors "GP Registrars" on 6 month placements and medical students from Sheffield University in the practice while they enhance their skills and knowledge to become a General Practitioner. They are supervised by Dr Shepherd and they have 100% support from everyone else on our team. They must complete a number of formal assessments during their training.

You may be offered an appointment with one of the GP Registrars. On occasion they may ask to video the consultation and sometimes another GP. If you are not comfortable with this please let the Doctor, or Registrar know. They will not be offended by your decision.

The Registrars and students are a valued part of our team and you can expect the same standard of care from them as from any of our other GPs, Nurses and Health Care Professionals.
